Mrs. Jessie Alice Turner of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Alec Edmund Turner, passed away at the Edith Cavell Care Centre on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the age of 90 years.

Jessie was born on January 31, 1919 on the family farm near Granum, Alberta. She attended Rocky Coulee School, completing grade 12. Early in the 1940's she left home to participate in aircraft ground crew training and subsequently worked in High River, Alberta at the EFTS #5. She met Alec during this time. After the war Jessie trained as a beautician and then operated a Beauty Parlor in Vulcan, Alberta with her sister Effie. In 1948 she married Alec and lived happily ever after in Lethbridge. Jessie was an avid volunteer, primarily in her church community at St. Augustine's.

Jessie is survived by her son Laurence (Cheryl), grandsons Andrew and Evan (Turner), her daughter Kathryn (Ken) McRae and her sister Teena Anema and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Jennie, Anna, Robert, Hilda, Effie, Roger, Idzert and Jacoba. A special thanks to her niece Annabelle Robinson who visited her frequently and provided caring support over many years.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm, on Monday September 28, 2009, at ST. AUGUSTINE'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411 - 11 St. S. Lethbridge, AB with Canon James Robinson officiating. A private Family Interment will be held.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in Jessie's name.
