Jennie Brandsma 1937 ~ 2014 Mrs. Jennie Brandsma (nee Van der Linden) of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. John Brandsma, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the age of 76 years. Jennie was born in Bergambacht, Netherlands on June 28, 1937. In her teenage years, her family moved to Canada and settled in Iron Springs. She married John Brandsma on September 20, 1957. Together they raised six children. Mom enjoyed baking, knitting, and crocheting. She was famous for her olie bollen and croquettes. She loved to give and had a servant's heart. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a strong devotion to her Christian beliefs and raised her family to walk with The Lord. We loved her very much and she will be dearly missed. Jennie is survived by her children, Jennie (Frank) Anderson, Carol (Dennis) Daubert, Debbie (Richard) Ooms, John Brandsma, Michael (Sherri) Brandsma, Shelagh (Tony) Tietz; 24 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister Mia Sandover; brothers Art (Elaine), Casey (Eve), Peter (Willy), John (Mel), Hank Van der Linden; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her loving husband John Brandsma, Jennie was also predeceased by her parents, Pieter and Jannigje Van der Linden; sisters Ali, Teuntje, Audrey, Marie; and brother Arie. A Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at MARTIN BROTHERS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at TRINITY UNITED REFORMED CHURCH, 1100 - 40 Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB with Reverend W. Oord, officiating. A private family interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery previous to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bibles For Missions, 1004 - 1 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 0B1.
