It is with great sadness that the family announced the passing of JEAN AINSCOUGH on Friday, September 17, 2010 at the age of 81 after a brief battle with cancer.
Jeanne Marie Suffern was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan on July 12, 1929. She attended junior high and high school in Victoria, BC and later moved to Edmonton, AB. There she met Alan Ainscough and they were married on December 31, 1954. They moved to Lethbridge in 1955 and had 6 children.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Alan, parents George and Joyce Suffern and her brother and sister, Charlie and Sylvia.
She leaves behind her sons Bruce (Janet), Neil, David, her daughters Susan (Fred), Julie Virtue (Jeph), Virginia Kuz (Randy) and grandchildren Jeff (Chelsea), Kristen, Matthew, Erica, Jennifer, and Austin, as well as her brother-in-law Grant, nieces and nephews Craig, Chris, Tom, Christopher, Cathy, Louise and their families.
Jean led an active life volunteering, gardening, golfing, curling, traveling, playing bridge and raising a large family. Jean met many dear and life-long friends through the Y's Men's Club and her many endeavors. She was particularly fond of the time she spent on the Cruise Ships as a stowaway when Alan retired and took a job as the ship's Doctor.
Jean was a very kind, loving and caring Wife, Mother and Friend. She will be dearly missed.
The family will remember her privately with an interment and a celebration of her life at a later date.
