James Gerard Anthony Christie passed away on October 8th, 2009. He was predeceased by his soul mate of 52 years, Millie, who died in 1999.
Jim was born in Kenogami, Quebec and led a rich life of adventure in the Royal Canadian Air Force, followed by a career as a high school teacher. He was a skilled woodcarver, furniture maker, and photographer and silk screening artist. His spirit for life persists in the artistic creations that adorn the homes of his children.

Jim is survived by his five children: Betty, Linda (Peter), Jim (Terri), Judy (Jim), and Gerry (Nina); grandchildren Wade, Jodi, Krista, Greg, Steven, Christie, Shane, Robyn, Jon, Gary & Shannon and by great grandchildren Jaz, Jade, Lucas, Kurtis, Darcy, Travis, Jake, Isabella, Josh & Elliot. We will miss your unique sense of humour and zest for life, Boompa!

Jim spent his last years in the caring hands of the Southwood Nursing Home staff. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Southwood for their extended care, love, and affection.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, October 16 at St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church, 1600 Acadia Dr. SE, Calgary. In lieu of flowers donations may be made online to The Canadian Cancer Society.
