It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of JACOB PETER JEFFERY. Jake left us peacefully in his sleep on December 18, 2011 at the age of 12.

Jake was born on a Sunday (Canberra, Australia) and died on a Sunday (Lethbridge, Alberta); he was everything that a ""Sunday's child"" could be.

Jake kept a busy schedule and was very active in his community. Recently, Jake represented his peers at the Community Foundation Grants Celebration by accepting a grant that will be used to purchase equipment and resources for students like him to use in the future. Jake loved to ride horses with the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association and attend music therapy classes. He regularly had workout sessions at the YMCA and, weather permitting, would volunteer to walk dogs at the Animal Shelter. Jake's weekends also kept him busy with all of his swimming, hiking, and biking activities around Lethbridge.

Jake had many friends and knew many people - it was hard to go anywhere without bumping into people he knew.

Jake is survived by his parents (Roz and Anthony), his older sister (Rachel), and his younger brother (John Luc). He also leaves behind his Australian granddad (John Cecil Jeffery) and his Canadian grandmother (Sharon O'Brien), as well as many Canadian and Australian aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his Australian grandmother (Suzanne Jeffery).

Many thanks go out to the staff of Behavioral Solutions and Greystoke Support Services for providing Jake the opportunity to live his life to the fullest. Very special thanks go out to the staff and students of Lethbridge Christian School who gave him many happy years. Jake loved his fellow schoolmates, who sometimes put great notes in his backpack to bring home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 9:00am on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY (meet at the Eternal Flame) and - like his schoolmates - please feel free to bring a note to leave with Jake.
