Isabella Heidinger

MRS. ISABELLA ""ONA"" HEIDINGER of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Martin Heidinger, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the age of 105 years.

Ona was born in Thurso, Scotland on September 29, 1906. She married Martin in 1930 and they had five children Joan (Ron) Pruden, Derry (Marie) Heidinger, George, Ruth (Don) Roth and David Heidinger and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

During Ona's retirement she did volunteer work with the Handicapped Riding, helped at the senior centre with Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Eastern Star Maple Leaf Chapter #7. Ona moved into Garden View Lodge in 2000 and adjusted to it well, playing bridge, bingo and making new friends. Ona liked watching TV to keep up on the news and watched her game shows to see if she could get the answers first. As Ona was getting older and maybe slowing down she did more crossword puzzles and reading books. We can see that she lived a full life and she saw many changes in her 105 years.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Hugh Jack, officiating.
