IRENE LINDSAY beloved wife of the late Samuel ""Sam"" Lindsay, passed away quietly in sleep, Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the age of 90 years at Columbia Assisted Living.

Irene was born in Maclin, SK on November 24, 1916, daughter of Wilbur and Amy Thomson. Her childhood years were spent in sport activities and in helping her father in his General Mercantile store. Irene went on to take a business course and was very good in the bookkeeping field. She was also a great cook and won many awards in the local competitions held at their annual fairs. For several years Irene and her husband were in business at Sherwin Williams Paints together as owners.

Irene was a lifetime member at the Lethbridge curling club and a long time member at the Lethbridge Country Club. She excelled at curling and golf and won many competitions in these her favorite sports.
Irene was predeceased by her husband Sam in 1998, son Robert ""Bob"" in 2001, brother Fred Thomson and sisters Adelaide Wells, Edythe McKay, Win Jankowski.

She is survived by her grandchildren Amy and Scott Lindsay and a special nephew Gary Thomson and wife Toni of Hawaii. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Jim Wells and Lee Jankowski, numerous nieces and nephews; as well as her friend Norma Douglas and her health provider ""adopted"" granddaughter Ashton Campbell.

We would like to extend our thanks to the doctors and the VON for their passionate care.

By request there will be no funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society Lethbridge Chapter, 162, 200 - 4 Ave South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4C9.
