MRS. INGETTA de VALOIS formerly of Monarch and Barons, passed away in Calgary, on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the age of 98 years, beloved wife of the late Cornelius de Valois.
Ingetta was born on the family homestead near Monarch on March 28, 1909, the eldest child of Leonard and Johanna Koole (nee Williamson). She was educated at Finley School and Nobleford School. She attended and graduated from the Raymond School of Agriculture. Ingetta enjoyed painting with the Lethbridge Sketch Club and playing the organ at the Barons United Church. She was active in putting together the Nobleford ""Sons of Wind & Soil,"" history book.
Ingetta was the mother to Marguerite (Hans) Paulsen; grandmother to Andrea (Jamie) Paterson, Ingrid Paulsen, Ellen (Dustin Sokoloski) Paulsen; great-grandmother to Julia Paterson, Clark Paterson; mother to Lorna (Bill Thompson) de Valois; grandmother to Heather (David) Coman, Sheila (Daniel) Chavez; great-grandmother to Grace Coman, Eric Chavez; mother-in-law to Aimee de Valois; grandmother to Arie de Valois, Rachel (Paul) Wittke, Rob de Valois; great-grandmother to Abigail and Lilah Wittke; sister to Lillian Piper, Ann Stone, Esther Doe and Gerrit Koole and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her loving husband Cornelius, Ingetta was predeceased by her son Allan; sisters Rita Rider, Arine Roelofs and a very special friend Roy Johnson.
Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 P.M. & 8:00 P.M., on Monday, April 16, 2007 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S., Lethbridge.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 1011-4th Ave. S., with Reverend Glenda Wert, officiating.
