Official Obituary of

14/8/1929 - to - 19/4/2011

MR. HOWARD GENE ""Bud"" HUTCHINSON of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Gladys Hutchinson, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital with his family by his side on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the age of 81 years.

Howard is survived by his wife Gladys, of 56 years, his daughter Dr. Carol Jean Hutchinson of Salem, Oregon, his son Ron (Gloria) Hutchinson, Monika (Hans) Coleman, Ron Howard Hutchinson of Denver, Colorado, son Rod (Ruth) Hutchinson of Lethbridge, Jason (Tara) Hutchinson of Lethbridge, Trista (Tyler), Lindsay (Warner) and great grandson Cooper Gene. He also leaves his sister Jo Ann Meisser of Calgary, brother-in-law Cecil De Pratu of Lethbridge, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Mabel Hutchinson and Leta Mae De Pratu.

Born on August 14, 1929 at Payette, Idaho, Howard moved to Canada with his family in 1934. He spent his early school years at Watt School, later graduating from Warner High School. He attended Calgary Tech, and graduated with diplomas in Aeronautical Engineering and Air Engineering. The next four years were spent in the United States Air Force.

Later, he met Gladys Schindler, the love of his life, and married in December 1954. They moved to Seattle in 1968 and spent the next four years as a structural engineer for Boeing Airplane Company, doing structural testing on the Super Sonic Transport Project.

They immigrated back to Canada and moved to Skiff in 1972, where Howard farmed until retirement in 2000 when he moved to Lethbridge. He served on community associations, such as The Flying Farmers, Director of AWP, Foremost Airport, where he designed the building.

Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday April 23, 2011 between 10:00 am and 11:00 am at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, with Pastor Barry Seifert, officiating.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Howard's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, #402 740 4 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 0N9.
