HUNTER ERIC WALKER of Coalhurst, beloved husband of the late Barbara Walker, passed away on October 23, 2011 at the Chinook Regional Hospital at the age of 81 years.
Hunter is predeceased by his loving wife Barbara, his parents Bryan and Mary Walker of Pincher Creek, and his two sisters Mona Turnbull and Kathleen Warriner.
He is survived by his sons Robin and Ross Walker, his grandchildren Robyn (Jeff) Marriott, Greg (Kristy) Walker, Kim (Brent) Orich, and their mother Michelle; Robin, Rory, and Russell Walker, and their mother Carolyn; and Barbara Bullshields. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Meghan, Ty, Hallie, and Jack Orich, and Jocelyn, Rhett, and Ryan Marriott.
Hunter will always be remembered for his strong personality and love of telling stories of his childhood. He had a great passion for horses and ranching. Hunter possessed a wealth of knowledge on a wide range of topics, from livestock and veterinary medicine to construction and all things mechanical. In addition to working on many of the large ranches in the area as a young man, he also spent time working in the oilfield. Following this he went onto one of his greatest accomplishments, starting Walkers' Transport, a trucking company he ran successfully for over 25 years.
Hunter and Barb were world travelers, visiting England numerous times to visit family, as well as the continent. They also enjoyed many cruises and trips to warmer climates.
Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects at 1:00pm on Monday, October 31, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Major Glen Habkirk, officiating. Interment to follow in the Archmount Cemetery.
