John R. Hofer, beloved husband of the late Rebecca (Wipf) Hofer, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the age of 93 years.

John was born in Glenwood, AB, on November 24, 1930, to John & Mary Hofer. He grew up at Felger Farms south of Lethbridge. He married Rebecca Wipf on July 11, 1954, and they raised their family near Stirling, AB. John was a part of the Stirling Mennonite Church, and his greatest desire was to stay faithful to the Lord.

John raised and trained many horses in his younger years. He was an avid woodworker and made treasured pieces for family and friends. He also spent hours in fieldwork. He remained interested in life around him until the very end. His faith in God carried him throughout life and finally home to glory.

John is survived by his daughter Linda (Ron) Ulrich, his son Glen (Charlene) Hofer, his son Jonathan Hofer, and his son-in-law Allen (Mina) Hostetler. He is also survived by his brother Jacob (Junia) Hofer, sister-in-law Mary Hofer, brother-in-law Dave Stahl, brother-in-law Tim Kubassek, and sister-in-law Mary Wipf.

John is predeceased by his wife, Rebecca (Wipf) Hofer, his daughter Esther (Hofer) Hostetler, his sisters Marie Stahl and Sarah Kubassek, his brother Darius Hofer, infant twin brothers, and two grandchildren. The family extends sincere thanks to the Raymond Hospital staff, the staff at Buffalo Grace Manor in Lethbridge, and Linda Ulrich for their wonderful care of Dad/Grandpa. God bless you for it.
