Lois Hofer

Official Obituary of

3/1/1958 - to - 3/1/1958

Lois Joanne Hofer, beloved daughter of the late John and Leila Hofer was born Jan 3, 1958 at Lethbridge, Alberta.

Lois was the 3rd child and only daughter in her family. She lived with her family and grew up in the Stirling area. As a girl she is remembered for her sweet personality. Lois suffered for many years from Schizophrenia and many prayers ascended for her healing but God chose to heal her in a better way. She was cared for by her parents then by her Father after the passing of her mother. Later then she resided at the Claresholm Care Center. For the last 8 months she was lovingly cared for in the Raymond Hospital, where she passed away on January 17, 2007 after a long battle with cancer. In her last days as well as in her passing she was surrounded by friends and family.

Lois was very artistic and especially enjoyed making things for others. She liked to give and would give away the things that she enjoyed the most herself. She also had many friends in the different places where she resided.

Lois accepted Christ as her personal Savior in her teens and was baptized in the Stirling Mennonite Church. Especially precious to Lois was the thought of Jesus as the Shepherd.

Left to mourn is one brother Steve (Betty) Hofer, sister-in-laws Susie Strubhar and Jean Rohrer, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her brothers Philip and Daniel and by an infant niece Lorraine Hofer.

Family and friends would like express appreciation for the excellent and loving care that Lois received both at the Claresholm Care Center and at the Raymond Hospital.

Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at STIRLING MENNONITE CHURCH.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Sunday, January 21, 2007 at STIRLING MENNONITE CHURCH, with Pastors Delbert Birky and Michael Hofer officiating. Interment to follow in Stirling Mennonite Cemetery.
