It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry "Hank" Floyd Nickel of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Jackie Nickel (nee Duffy), following a courageous battle with cancer on February 16, 2021.

Hank was born in Coaldale, AB on August 8, 1949 to George and Martha (nee Funk) Nickel. The family moved around until finally settling in Calgary when Hank was still a young boy. He met and married Jackie, the love of his life, in Sechelt, BC. He adored his daughters, and always put his family first, making them a priority. His efforts never went unnoticed and he will always remain their hero.

Hank was a hard worker, driven to excel at everything he did, attaining a First Class Power Engineering Ticket and his MBA. He lead with honesty and integrity, leaving a lasting impression on those who worked for/with him.

Hank was highly intelligent with a quirky sense of humour who loved to sing and was often compared to Elvis Presley. He had a genuine interest in others and strangers often found themselves sharing their life stories within minutes of meeting him. His happiest times were in Terrace, BC spending weekends golfing with his two brother-in-laws, Jim & Denis, and his friend Jim; and the many Duffy family BBQs. He also enjoyed trips to Vegas and Laughlin with Jackie and their long time friends.

Besides Jackie, his loving wife of 48 years, Hank is survived by his daughters, Dana (Liam), Shawna (Mike), and Tracy; along with his grandchildren, Bailey, Maia, Jack, Kate, and Madeline, as well as his two sisters and many nieces and nephews. Hank was predeceased by his parents and grandson, Tristan.

As per Hanks wishes, there will not be a viewing or funeral service. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed on Hank's obituary at www.mbfunerals.com.

The family would like to thank the staff of Unit 4B at the Chinook Regional Hospital and at St. Michael's Hospice for the wonderful care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation in his memory.
