Henrietta Hatt

HENRIETTA HATT, nee Berryman, was born in Lexington, Kentucky, March 13th, 1922. After graduating from Cincinnati Bible Seminary she met and married Lloyd Dennis Hatt on June 12, 1948 in Orrville, Ohio. Ten years later Henrietta and Lloyd moved the family to Lethbridge, Alberta. At the Central Church of Christ in Lethbridge, Henrietta contributed widely to all aspects of church life, teaching Sunday School for most of her life.
Henrietta worked in Medical Records at the Lethbridge Municipal Hospital. For nineteen years she served on the Hospital Board and was chair during the construction of the Lethbridge Regional Hospital. Henrietta was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority , past matron of Eastern Star and past president of the Auxiliary to the Regional Hospital, Auxiliary Wing. She spent countless hours volunteering for the hospital and for the community.

Henrietta loved life and she loved having people around her. She travelled widely, read voraciously, laughed often and loved much. With a ready smile and comforting word, she touched the lives of many. Henrietta died at peace on December 19th surrounded by her family. She will be remembered fondly by neighbours, friends and family alike.

Henrietta is survived by her husband Lloyd, four children, Gary (Alice), Linda (Piotr Kossowski), Rick (Suzanne), and Dennis (Trudy), 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Dorothy Breland, Eileen Burberry and 1 brother, James Berryman all living in Kentucky. She was predeceased by her parents, Vernon Charles and Ella Virginia Berryman, 2 brothers, and daughter-in-law Lucille.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, AB.
