HENNING BRUUN CHRISTENSEN

1935 ~ 2018

Henning Bruun Christensen beloved husband of Astrid Christensen passed away Sunday March 25, 2018.

Henning was born September 22, 1935 in Trunderup, Denmark. A true farmer at heart, he started working on farms at the age of 14 and continued through his teens. After Danish army training, he married Astrid and they had two sons. They started farming in Denmark. In 1965, he moved his family to Canada, where he farmed for 50 years side by side with his wife Astrid.

Henning had a deep respect for nature and animals. He enjoyed walking through the land and coulees.

Over the years Henning built wagons, farm equipment, and restored a fleet of Farmall tractors. Riding and racing motorbikes was a passion he shared with his sons and grandchildren. Grandpa always made time for his family and friends. He had a way of making you feel special. Henning had a love of music, and at his grandchildren's birthdays he would welcome them at the door playing his accordion. He treasured spending time with his grandchildren.

Beside his loving wife Astrid he is survived by his two sons, Soren (MaryAnne), Hans (Lucie); seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren – Shane (Melissa), Sondra (Waylon) (Reklon, Meika, Tinsley), Jamie (Jordana) (Isabelle, Violet), Ashley, Kira (Brad), Adam and Jason.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
