Helen Starner

HELEN RUTH STARNER, beloved wife of the late Jim Starner of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her seven loving children, on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Chinook Regional Hospital at the age of 82 years.

Helen was born in Monarch, Alberta, the third child of Annie and Rein Huisman. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, and was loved by all. She was known for her love and compassion for all people, especially children. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Among her favorite pastimes were family outings, being with friends, or chatting on the phone. Her biggest passions were dancing with dad and playing her piano for all to enjoy.

Helen is survived by her children; Myron Starner, Anita (Keith) Sutherland, Larry (Janet) Starner, Linda (Barrie) Onofrychuk, Donna (Dave) Webster, Gail Starner, Marlene Starner, and daughter-in-law Judy Starner as well as 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 and 9:00 pm on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Pastor Brian Magee, officiating.

Cremation to follow at Martin Bros. Chapel of Peace.

A private family interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge, Alberta.
