Helen Rakus

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend HELEN RAKUS on March 8, 2007 in Lethbridge, AB at the age of 70 years.

Helen was raised in Iron Springs, AB where she spent her youth and young adult hood on the family farm with her brother Joe. At the farm, Helen enjoyed watching her mother and father work in the yard and visiting with family and friends. Helen's favorite past time is the Sunday drives she used to take with her father in his red car to town for ice cream.

Helen relocated to Lethbridge in her late adulthood where she was loved and supported by her caregivers. Helen warmed the hearts of everyone who met her and taught people to appreciate the small things in life. In Lethbridge, Helen spent her time visiting with caregivers and friends, spreading her contagious laughter and her affectionate hugs. From the flowers and people she passed on her daily strolls to the latest hair and nail trend, Helen admired the beauty in everything.

Helen's loving nature will be missed by all those she touched. Helen was predeceased by her mother Sera, father Joe and brother Joe. Helen is survived by her cousins Helen Mikula, Agnes Dudly, Marie Smith, Rose Chrupka and their families as well as many special friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M., on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at OUR LADY OF ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405-12 Ave., with Father Tim Boyle celebrant. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery
