Hazel McNabb

MISS HAZEL RUTH McNABB of Lethbridge passed away at the Edith Cavell Care Centre on Monday, March 10, 2008 at the age of 95 years.

Hazel is survived by her nephews Wayne (Lee) McNab of Pender Island, BC; Brian (Heather) McNab of Delta, BC; Barry (Ansa) Newton of Edmonton, AB; and niece Sheila (Kirk) Coburn of Prince George, BC. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and May McNab, brother Frank (Phyllis) McNab, sister Florence (Roy) Newton and long time friend Alberta McDougall. Hazel was assisted in her later years by friends Martin and Mary Oordt.

Hazel was born and raised south of Fort Macleod on a ranch bordering the Oldman River. She was a telephone operator for AGT, a bookkeeper for Advance Lumber and an employee of the Alberta Treasury Branch and the Heidelberg Inn. In her teens, Hazel played piano with a dance band in surrounding rural communities. She enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as camping and travel.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 12:30PM and 1:00PM on Friday, March 14, 2008 with a service to follow at 1:00PM at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge with Mary and Martin Oordt officiating.
