Gustav Schwarz

MR. GUSTAV ""GUS"" SCHWARZ of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Lydia Schwarz, passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the age of 81 years.

Gus was born on January 9, 1926 in Hermanovka, Poland. He immigrated from Germany with his family in 1952 to Canada. He was married to Lydia Schwarz and had two children, son James and daughter Kathy. Gus had experienced poor health for a number of years and was at Extendicare, Lethbridge until his passing.

Gus is survived by his daughter Kathy Schwarz of Saskatoon, SK; son James Schwarz of Medicine Hat, AB; sisters Rosalie Cupalka of Calgary and Betty Lippert of Lethbridge, AB; brothers Julius, John, Adolf and Herman Schwarz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Besides his beloved wife his wife Lydia, Gus is predeceased by his parents August and Erline Schwarz, 2 brothers Henry and Leonhard Schwarz.
We would like to express our special thanks to all the staff at Extendicare for the wonderful care they gave to Gus during his stay.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Pastor Brian Magee officiating.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
