MRS. GRACE ZANONI of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Enzo Zanoni, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the age of 85 years.
Grace Cecelia Woodruff was born on September 30, 1924 in Cumberland, BC to Albert Edward and Elizabeth Woodruff. She went to school in Camp 3 grades 1 to 8, a small logging camp 15 miles north of Courtney, BC. She came to Lethbridge and worked as a housekeeper for a Doctor, then married Enzo Zanoni in 1942. She had a few jobs in her lifetime; some of them were at Broders Canning Co., Woolworth Co., Automatic Electric, DeJourdan's Studio and the Lethbridge University when it was first built. Hobbies included knitting, crocheting and sewing for babies and their families and friends. Grace went to the library a lot for her romance books, did the Weight Watchers successfully, was a member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge and bowled in a League. Gardening and her flowers were another pastime.
Grace is survived by her daughter Betty Rowley of Savona, BC, brothers Vern Woodruff of Victoria, BC and Albert of Nanaimo, BC, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her beloved husband Enzo, Grace was predeceased by her sister Ruby Than.
Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00pm on Monday, June 14, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, led by Alice Takacs.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at ST. BASIL'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge, AB with Father Tim Boyle officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
