1924 ~ 2015
Gordon Lloyd Simmons of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Henrica Simmons, passed away on May 10, 2015 at the age of 90 years.
Born in Claresholm, Alberta on June 18, 1924 to Oliver and Adeline Simmons. His main occupation was farming and was also an excellent carpenter, welder and mechanic. He loved to do woodwork in his shop, always needing to have something to do. He enjoyed both fishing and travelling whenever they got the chance. He was known as daycare Grandpa to a lot of children at Rica’s Daycare in Coalhurst. His family has always been his priority, as was his callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Gordon is survived by his five daughters Marian Seaborn, Linda Ment, Fay Jorgensen, Val Bullied, Elaine Lutz; his son Lloyde Simmons; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters Marjorie, Dorothy and Joyce.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Henrica; his parents Oliver & Mary Adeline Simmons; daughter Lydia Lorraine, sister Verda; brothers Raymond and Dale.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS, 2223-6A Ave. North, Lethbridge, Alberta. Interment to follow in the Archmount Cemetery.
