Gordon Ferne

July 9, 1915 - September 11, 2007

MR. GORDON FERNE, beloved husband of Edna Jean Ferne, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the age of 92 years.

Besides Edna, his loving wife of 60 years, Gordon is survived by his two children and their families, son Len (Dianne), daughter Barbara Ferne-Montgomerie (Ian) and two grandchildren Scott and Jessica Montgomerie.

Gordon was predeceased by his parents Flora and Leonard, brother Richard and sister Lorna.

Gordon's parents emigrated from England in the early 1900's and settled in Bow Island. Gordon married Edna in Ranier and together they moved to Lethbridge in 1947. Gordon spent much of the 40's delivering farm fuel to the community and also working for a grain elevator in Bow Island. He then worked as an automotive parts technician at Enerson Motors in Lethbridge until his retirement at the age of 65 years. He also worked as a Commissionaire at Lethbridge Community College for a few years following his retirement.

Gordon's Family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of 4C at the Chinook Regional Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at the FIRST UNITED CHURCH, 502 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge with Reverend Elizabeth Brown officiating.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial donations may be made in Gordon's memory to the First United Church, 502 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge T1H 2S4 or to a charity of one's choice.
