Giuseppe Di Palma

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Giuseppe (Joe) Di Palma who passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.

Giuseppe was born on January 31, 1935 in Pietrabbondante, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1964. Becoming a member of the Italian Canadian Club as well as the Assumption Church, Lethbridge quickly became Giuseppe's home. Giuseppe really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to share the tasty wine he made every September. Giuseppe also had a passion for gardening and spent many days tending to his tomatoes and hot peppers.

Giuseppe was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife Rosina, his daughter Elvira (Garry) Kaskiw, his son Carlo (Mamta) Di Palma and his grandchildren Kurtis Kaskiw, Terra Kaskiw, Alyssa Di Palma, and Serena Di Palma; 2 brothers Giovanni and Mario (Bicetta) Di Palma; 2 sisters Antonietta (Vincenzo) Di Iorio and Gina Santangelo, and a sister-in-law Isolina Di Palma as well as many numerous nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by his parents Nicola & Elvira Di Palma, a brother Guerino Di Palma, a brother-in-law Gaetano Santangelo, and a sister-in-law Irma Di Palma.

Vigil Rites prayers will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Father Tim Boyle, celebrant. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Lethbridge Society, 402, 740 - 4 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 0N9 and/or the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 2M7.
