Mr. Daniel “Dan” Geworsky of Coaldale, beloved husband of Mrs. Elly Geworsky, passed away at the Coaldale Health Centre, on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at the age of 90 years.

Daniel, 1 of 10 children, was born on September 18, 1930 in Josefstal, Ukraine to Daniel and Katharina Geworsky. Daniel and his wife Elly immigrated to Canada in May of 1951. They made their way to Coaldale in March of 1953, where they lived most of their lives.

Daniel was a faithful member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Coaldale. He attended his church regularly until he could not drive anymore (he was in his 80’s).      

Daniel worked most of his life in the construction business of building houses or making doors and windows. In his younger years, he loved to spend weekends fishing, taking his family to Chin Lake or getting together with other relatives. In later years he loved to putter around in the garden and yard, ride bike and go for walks. To him, this was the ideal life, as he did not care to travel. He was the happiest man when he retired at 60, enjoying taking life easy and spending time with the grandchildren. 

 He leaves behind his beloved wife Elly of 69 years of marriage; 5 children Ursula (Frank) Loseth, Elfriede “Fritz” (Bruce) Atkinson, Hermann (Holly) Geworsky, Betty Watson and John Geworsky; sister Lydia Guse; brother Fred (Sylvia) Geworsky; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

A private family funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
