It is with great sadness that the family of Gerald Anthony Roth announce his passing. Gerald passed away peacefully, yet unexpectedly, at home, at the age of 68, with his beloved wife by his side.
Gerald was born on March 1, 1958, in Taber, Alberta, to Anthony and Kathleen Roth. At the time of his birth, the family lived on a farm south of Bow Island, Alberta, where Gerald spent his early years and developed the strong work ethic, integrity, and appreciation for family that would remain with him throughout his life.
Gerald dedicated more than 40 years to a career as a Civil Engineering Surveyor, with the majority of his career spent at UMA Engineering. He took great pride in his work and was highly respected by colleagues and clients alike for his knowledge, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.
Above all else, Gerald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his family and took immense pride in the lives and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish Gerald's memory are his loving wife, Rhonda Roth; daughters Amy (Rob) Burton and their children, Aubree and Gracelyn, and Jessica (Nathan) Barendregt and their children, Beckett and Remi; brother Alan (Janet) Roth; sisters Loreen (Len) Mezei and Patti Roth along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Gerald was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Kathleen Roth.
Gerald's kindness, steady presence, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched throughout his lifetime.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and forever dear."
A Celebration of Gerry’s Life will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta with Reverend Glenda Wert, officiating.
