GYORGY (GEORGE) DOMAK of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Helen Domak, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2012 at the age of 77 years.
George was born in Perkata, Hungary May 18, 1934 and immigrated to Canada during the Hungarian Revolution.
Upon his arrival to Canada in 1957 he settled in the Picture Butte/Lethbridge area. He met and married Helen Trcka in 1965 and relocated to the Elk Valley where they raised their family and George worked in the local coal mine for the next 26 years until his retirement. George and Helen made their way back to Lethbridge in 1993.
George loved to fish, play pool, cook and took pride in his garden. His grandchildren were his greatest joy and storytelling/joking his favorite pass time.
Besides his loving wife Helen, George is survived by his daughters; Barbara (Vince) Auger and Ethel (Leslie) Domak, his son George (Kim) Domak, grandchildren; Meagan Auger, Matthew Auger, Patrick McLaughlin, Robert McLaughlin, Ashley McLaughlin, and Brayden Wells, and his sister Rozalia Sari of Hungary.
George was predeceased by his parents Jozsef and Rozalia Domak, and his brother Jozsef Domak Jr.
Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 19, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Deacon Cliff Bogdan, officiating.
