Gary Erickson

The family of GARY ERICKSON is saddened to announce his passing on Saturday, March 26, 2011 after a courageous 30 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Gary was born on November 25, 1941 in Young, Saskatchewan. He moved to Alberta with his family when he was 6 years old. He attended school in Coutts, Drumheller, Lethbridge -Hamilton Jr. High School & LCI and the University of Alberta. Gary married Judy Gray in January 1964. They resided in Lethbridge where Gary successfully operated several small businesses related to long and short haul trucking.

After his illness left him unable to work, Gary could be found on his acreage building, tinkering with and repairing all manner of cars, trucks, appliances, tools, machinery, golf carts, etc. or visiting with family and friends. Gary will best be remembered for his infectious grin, his love of the news, weather & current events and his unbelievable will to live a full life despite his ever increasing disabilities.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Tracey (Dave Driscoll) his sons, Brad (Pam Watmough) and Greg (Michelle Kitt), his grandchildren, Kelsey, Hailey, Layne and Tristan and his sister Shiron (Bill Smith).
Gary was predeceased by his parents Egner and Maybelle Erickson and his wife of 27 years, Judy Erickson. Although they had been divorced for a number of years, Gary was deeply saddened by her sudden passing in June of 2010.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 1, 2011 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, with Pastor Jim Lindemann, officiating.

Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary's memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 724 13th Street North, Lethbridge AB, T1H 2T1.
