Gary Beatty

MR. GARY EDGAR BEATTY of Monarch, beloved husband of Mrs. Barbara Beatty, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the age of 72 years.

Gary was born on August 24, 1935 in Fleming, SK, the second youngest of ten children. He joined the RCMP when he was 19 years old and served in many detachments across Canada until his retirement as Sergeant to Monarch in 1975. Gary and his wife owned and operated the Monarch Hotel until 1980. He also worked for the Alberta Disaster Services until retiring in 1993.

Besides his loving wife Barbara (nee Fischer), Gary is survived by his daughter Ramona (Emery); cherished granddaughter Alexandra Ewanyshyn; sister Marie Day of Victoria, BC, Donella Huestis of Victoria, BC, Vera Loader of Winnipeg, MB; sister-in-law Donna Beatty of Monarch and Margaret Beatty of Regina; brothers Harold (Jan) Beatty of Sundre, AB, Carman (Phyllis) Beatty of Victoria, BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Gary was predeceased by his parents William and Winifred Beatty; brothers Elwood, Hubert and Donald Beatty and sister Helen Beatty.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, March 7, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Elizabeth Brown, officiating.
