Frederick Baxter

Frederick Allen Baxter, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Dorothy, passed away after a short battle with Kidney Cancer at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit on Friday, February 27, 2026, at almost 93 years of age.

Fred was loved and will be missed by all his family: his wife Dorothy with whom he celebrated their 50 Year Anniversary on February 14, 2026, while he was in care; his three children Terry (Barbara) Baxter, Blair (Patricia) Baxter, and Deborah (Tyrone) Cosgrove; his three step-children Carolyn (Lloyd) McNichol, Doug (Karry) Regier, and Julie (David) Fairweather; as well as 10 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Fred had a busy working life and was a lifelong hockey fan and, of late loved the Blue Jays. After 24 years in the military with postings all across Canada and Germany, he spent many retired years camping and travelling, seeing all of Canada and the United States many times.

Fred spent his last 20 years in Lethbridge and enjoyed the many friends he met in the Good Sams Camping Group.

Fred was predeceased by his sister Mary (age 5), his brother Doug Bragg, and his first wife Carol.

Cremation has been entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.

The family has chosen to remember Fred privately at this time.
