Freda Niepel

ALFREDA ""FREDA"" NIEPEL passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in Lethbridge.

Freda was born on November 1, 1927 in Dundee, Scotland. Freda met her late husband Horst Niepel when he was a prisoner of war in Dundee, Scotland. He had been sent to Canada and had decided to make the Lethbridge area his home. Freda then came to Canada in the early 50's to be with Horst. They were wed on February 4, 1952 in Lethbridge.

After living in Vauxhall and Bow Island, the couple chose to reside in Lethbridge.

They welcomed their only child Ragan Elaina in 1965.

Freda spent most of her working career in Lethbridge at Commercial Printers and Southern Stationers. Before her long and courageous struggle with arthritis, Freda loved dancing, painting and traveling back home to Scotland.

Freda was predeceased by her husband Horst who passed away on July 18, 1996.

Freda is survived by her daughter Ragan, son-in-law Paolo Rigoni and two granddaughters Elaina and Lauren Rigoni of Calgary. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S., Lethbridge, AB, with Reverend Hugh Jack, officiating. Cremation to follow.
