Frank Zid

MR. FRANK ZID of Lethbridge died at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the age of 87 years.

Frank was born at Esterhazy, Saskatchewan on the family farm on September 29, 1921. He received his schooling in Dubuc and Stockholm, Saskatchewan. He farmed for ten years on his own, but enjoyed music very much. He often played his accordion for dances and always felt this should have been his career. For about ten years he drilled water wells in Saskatchewan before coming to Alberta in 1966. In Lethbridge, he was the caretaker at the University of Lethbridge for ten years. Frank was very independent and set in his ways. He was extremely creative and inventive, if there was something he needed and couldn't buy, he would make it. He also was a great caregiver for his mother and father.

Franks is survived by his sister Agnes Schaufert, 6 nephews and nieces and their families. He was predeceased by his parents Theresa and Martin Zid, brother Henry Zid, sister Evelyn Hanis and nephews Donald Hanis and Robert Schaufert.

At Frank's request there will be no viewing or funeral. An Interment will be held at a later date in Esterhazy, SK in the family plot between his mother and father.
