MRS. JOYCE GORRIE of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Jack Gorrie, passed away at St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the age of 80 years.

Joyce was born in Virden, Manitoba. In 1953 she moved to Lethbridge and married Jack Gorrie. Together they raised three sons. Joyce was very involved in the sport of curling. She was a player, coached junior girls and thoroughly enjoyed watching the game as well. Joyce also delighted in her many years with Kinettes, bridge club and bowling teams.

In 1971 they bought a cabin in Waterton Park. A life of hiking, golf, tennis and fishing was pursued by the whole family. All of these activities brought many cherished friendships.

A recent highlight for Joyce was to travel to Philadelphia as a cancer survivor to support Wellspring and Cancervive.

Joyce is survived by her sons; John (Elaine) and Glen (Susan), her grandson Cameron, and her twin sister Betty and younger sister Vivian.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband Jack and their son Ken.
