HELEN FLEXHAUG (Chollack) of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2010 at the age of 93 years.
Helen is survived by daughter-in-law Mary Flexhaug and son-in-law John Ratushny, grandchildren Mark (Pat) Flexhaug and children Nadine, Brianne, Ryan (Emily), Monica Flexhaug and son Camon, Jason (Karen) Ratushny and children Hannah and Noah, Jeff (Sophia) Ratushny and children Siobahn and Raquel, Marie (Darcy) Flexhaug, Myron (Kelly) Flexhaug and children Rowan and Brodie as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
She was predeased by her parents John and Anna Chollack, sisters Kay Castles, Mary Zambaldi, Martha Taylor and AnnieYanosik, brother Joe Chollack, husband Joseph Flexhaug, daughter Joyce Ratushny and son Malcolm Flexhaug.
Helen started her journey through life in Lethbridge and settled with her husband Joseph in Raymond to start their family. She then moved to Warner which became her home and only recently moved to Lethbridge. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. In the community, Helen will be remembered as the last switchboard operator in Warner, her work as the scale operator at the gravel pit and extensive involvement in the CWL. For 25 years she was Sacristan at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic church in Warner, volunteered
at the Warner Library and the Milk River museum. Our family thanks her countless friends who lovingly helped Helen remain at home for as long as possible. Too many to name, you will always be cherished. A special thank you to Judy Wright, Bob, Vern and Jo Flexhaug and the excellent caring staff of the Good Samarian's Society for your love and care of our Gramma.
Prayers will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 5:30PM at ST. PETERS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street NW, Milk River, Alberta.
The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00AM on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at ST. PETERS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street NW, Milk River, Alberta, with Father Joe Kalathilparampil, officiating.
Interment to follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Lethbridge at 2:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wheels In Motion c/o Good Samariton Society Park Meadows, Lethbridge, Alberta or the charity of one's choice.
