MRS. MARY ELLEN FLEMING of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Alex Fleming, passed away on December 27, 2006 at the age of 90 years.

Mary was born on May 16, 1916 on the family farm near Barons, Ab. Here she was raised, educated and instilled with an uncompromising work ethic. Mary's greatest pleasure was sharing her life with the family and friends that she truly cherished. On September 29, 1941 Mary wedded her sweetheart Alex in Lethbridge, and together they had three children. She lost her husband in 1953 and continued to raise their children on her own. Mary supported all of her children's activities, from being among the first board members and past treasure of Lethbridge Minor Hockey League and Little League Baseball to never missing a swim meet. Mary also loved spending time golfing, fishing, gardening and playing bridge with her friends. She was an active member of the Southminster Church and was a founding member of the 48 Club. Mary truly loved life and sharing it with those near and dear to her.

Mary is survived by her daughter Mary-Pat Roberts of Lethbridge; son Harold (Judy) Fleming of Baron; step-son Jack (Shirley) Fleming of Lethbridge; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; sister Florence O'Donnell as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her beloved husband Alex, Mary is predeceased by her son Doug Fleming; step-son Howard Fleming; son-in-law David Roberts; great-grandson Tanner McMahon; sister Nona Davis and brother Harold Turner.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St. South, Lethbridge, AB, with Dr. Alec Lawson, officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Family Plot.
