Faye Fraser

FAYE HELEN FRASER of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Gene James Teruya, passed away suddenly after a brief illness on September 17, 2009, with her daughter, Cindy, by her side. Faye was 68 years of age, having just celebrated her birthday the week before. Besides her loving husband, Gene, Faye is survived by her daughter, Cindy, her grandson, Colten Wickenheiser and two brothers, Charlie (Marg) Fraser of Brucefield, Ontario, and Gary (Pat) Fraser, of Penticton, British Columbia. Faye was predeceased by her parents, Addison and Alice Fraser, and her brothers Jim, Bill, and Don and her sisters, Joan, Alice, Eva, Nora and Clara.
Faye was born in Wingham, Ontario, September 9, 1941. She moved to Lethbridge in 1959 and met the love of her life here. Faye and Gene were married July 23, 1960. After trying to have children of their own, six years later they were the proud parents of a sick adopted baby girl. As with all things, Mom had the compassion to see beyond the present into the person that infant could grow into under her influence, love and guidance.

Mom spent the majority of her lifetime trying to help others. Her greatest joy and mission was in providing care and comfort, sympathy and laughter to seniors in her care. She was a very strong woman, but with a heart as big as her backbone. She has touched many people, and I have been blessed with all she has given me.

By Mom's request, there will be no memorial service. A small family gathering will be held at a later date.
