Evelyn Falconer

Mrs. Evelyn Irene Falconer of Lethbridge beloved wife of William Falconer, passed away after a lengthy illness on August 4, 2008 at the age of 85 years.

Evelyn was born on August 11, 1922 in Shellbrooke, SK. After growing up in Regina, Evelyn joined the RCAF in 1941 and in July 1943 Evelyn met William Falconer, the love of her life who she then married on Christmas day of the same year.

In 1961 Evelyn and Bill came to Lethbridge where Evelyn worked for the LCC as a book keeper for several years.

In her retirement years Evelyn enjoyed playing bridge, golf and curling. Her favorite pastime was always being deeply engrossed in a good book.

Evelyn will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at St. Mike's for their loving care during Evelyn's last year.

Besides her loving husband William, Evelyn is survived by her 3 daughters; Mary (Jack) Simmons, Hazel (Manfred) Janhsen, Edith (Larry) Van Leuken, 2 sons; Daniel, and David (Susan), 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters; Hazel Fleming and Edith Granger, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Evelyn was predeceased by her brother Ray, her sisters Bessie, Kay and Rita, and her son Raymond.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 2:00pm and 4:00pm on Sunday, August 10, 2008, at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St. South, Lethbridge, AB.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, August 11, 2008, at MARTIN BROS FUNERAL CHAPEL, with Major Brian Beveridge officiating.
