DEBORAH “DEB” EVANS

1955 ~ 2017

Deborah Lynn Evans of Lethbridge, Alberta, best friend and loving wife of Norman Evans passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer on July 25, 2017 at the age of 61 years.

Debbie was born in Edmonton on October 7, 1955, the oldest daughter of Ed & Marlyne Nelson. Her childhood began in Leduc then to Entwistle. At the age of 15 her family moved to Claresholm where she met and fell deeply in love with Norm. After high school Debbie went to bible college in Calgary for a year, then on to nursing school where she met her best friend Sheila. Debbie and Norm married in 1975 but Debbie didn’t officially move to Lethbridge until she completed her LPN practicum in the spring of 1976. Debbie and Norm began their family in 1978 with the birth of their son David and two years later their daughter Lyndsey.

Debbie was diagnosed with MS in 1982 but that didn’t stop her from enjoying life. She loved spending time with all of her family and good friends. They went camping, trips to see family, going to BC, family reunions, antique car club trips, and their yearly trip to William Watson Lodge with the MS Society. Over the years, Debbie spent time volunteering with the MS Society, Samaritans, and at her kids school.

Debbie especially loved just spending time with her children and her husband Norm. Norm was a caring husband spending time looking after Debbie at home as well as being by her side day and night until she passed.

Besides her husband Norm of 41 ½ years, Debbie is survived by her son David and daughter Lyndsey (Jeff); sisters Jacquie Markle, children Mike (Arla) & Jenny (Kyle); Norine (John) Crosby, children Suzanne (Brandon), Derek, Myles & Amber; Brother-in-law Gord Evans, Gene Evans, children Aaron & Cameron; Sister-in-law Lorraine (Steve) Cross. Debbie was predeceased by her parents Edward & Marlyne Nelson; & Mother-in-law Dorothy Evans.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th Street South, Lethbridge, AB., Pastor Brian Palsky officiating.
