Emma Fontana

MRS. EMMA FONTANA (nee Rogers) of Lethbridge beloved wife of Elvino passed away peacefully on December 1, 2009 at the age of 88 years. Emma was born in Coleman, Alberta on February 16, 1921, where she grew up, met and married Elvino Fontana on October 3, 1941. Together they spent their lives in Coleman, Calgary, Lethbridge, and Sherwood Park, returning to Lethbridge in their later years. They never lost their love for the mountains and their passion for the Crowsnest Pass. They enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling with friends and relatives, playing cards, but most of all they enjoyed the company of their dogs.

Predeceased by her parents Isabella and Jonathan Rogers, Emma has left to mourn, her husband of 68 years Elvino, her daughter Gaile (Paul) Rusznak, her son Roger (Verna) Fontana, and daughter Lorraine (Ken) Martell, grandchildren LaVerne (Paul) Krizan, Sheri (Bob) Parsons, Robert (Sheri) Rusznak, Grant (Serenda) Fontana, Leanne (Duncan) Pottinger, Jill and Sean Martell, great grandchildren Michaela and Aiden Krizan, Robyn and Ryan Parsons, Jaden and Kylan Rusznak, Emma and Noah Fontana.

Family and close friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday December 3, 2009 between 7:00 and 8:00 pm at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday December 4, 2009 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Canon Allan McCuaig officiating. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations to the Alzheimer Society, Lethbridge Chapter, #402, 740 - 4th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0N9.
