Emil Weiss

MR. EMIL WEISS of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Linda Weiss, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at the age of 94 years.

Emil was born in Walsh, Alberta on September 19, 1912 to Jacob and Anna Maria Weiss, and was part of a large family. He worked in his vocation as a blacksmith up until 1964, after which he partook in many different endeavors. In retirement Emil enjoyed woodworking at which he was very successful. He loved life and proved it by the many things he did such as sailing several trips down the river on his home made paddle wheel boat from Lethbridge to Medicine Hat. Emil was 82 on his last river trip.

Emil is survived by his four sons Kenneth (Mary Ann), Wayne (Mary Ann), Michael (Sharon) and Bill; grandchildren Marion (Mike), Cindy (Eric), Jonathan, Jeff, Melissa (Tim), Jamie, Angela (Ernie), Jasmine (Ted), Van and Danny; great-grandchildren Carl, Megan, Dylan, Zacary, Sana, Mackie, Greyem, Cameron and Grayson; Dad's very good neighbours Ruth and Maury; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Besides his loving wife Linda, Emil was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Anna Maria and 18 brothers and sisters.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 6:00PM and 8:00PM on Monday, July 9, 2007 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Major Glen Habkirk, officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Emil's name to Lethbridge Meals on Wheels, 102 - 5 Ave South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0S9.
