Johanna (Elma) Harmina Hogewoning, beloved wife of the late Mr. Robert (Bob) Hogewoning, passed away peacefully at the Milk River Long Term Hospital, on Wednesday November 6, 2013 at the age of 94 years.
Elma was born on August 3, 1919 in Hengelo, Gelderland, Holland. Elma and her husband moved to Canada in 1957 to Ontario and then later in 1966 to Lethbridge. Elma worked for Golden Bridge Hotel cleaning rooms for years and then worked banquets for Sven Ericksen's Restaurant and the Lethbridge exhibition. In her spare time she would love to walk, crochet, and play bingo; she was very socialable, loving, caring and a very happy lady.
Elma was predeceased by her faithful, loving husband Bob Hogewoning in 1992. She is survived by her daughter Yvonne (Charles) Graham of Milk River, her son John Hogewoning of the United States; her beloved grandchildren Ashley Graham, Robert Graham and Tara Hogewoning; as wells as several sisters brothers, nieces and nephews and their families in the Netherlands.
Elma's cremation has been entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapel, and her ashes will lay to rest beside her husband at Mountain View Cemetery in Lethbridge, Alberta.
