Service Details
Elizabeth passed away on August 20, 2010 in Brooks, Alberta. She was born at Raley, AB in 1924, daughter of Rev. David and Rachel (Walter) Hofer.
On confession of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; Elizabeth was baptised on March/1947; and the same year exchanged wedding vows with her life partner, Peter Jacob Mandel, on June 22/1947.
A couple of years later they moved to and resided in Pincher Creek area; at Brocket Colony; working hard but enjoying the farm life. Her children and grandchildren were her life; insisting to consult with them daily. When God took her husband unto Himself, on January 13/2001; her days were empty to the core. With spiralling health issues; Orchard Manor of Brooks, became her new home; (and most recently Sunrise Gardens) where loving care was always evident. What a Blessed reunion she is experiencing g with God in Heaven; also her husband, and family members and friends!
Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, David and Rachel; and siblings-Jacob, Rachel, Annie, Mary, Barbara, Kay, David, Walter, and infants Rebecca and George and son-in-law Lloyd Hofer.
Her surviving family consists of: Rachel Hofer, of Lethbridge AB; David (Carol) Mandel, of Abbortsford, BC; Anna (Mike) Gross of Brooks, AB; Mark (Dianne) Mandel of Lethbridge AB. And grandchildren: Angela, Jeremy (Alison), Derek, Michelle (Peter), Dwayne, and Justin. Also three granddaughters; Tashalee, Subreina, an Rylie Lynn.
A special thank-you to each one that attended to her physical needs; Colony ladies, Pincher Creek home care staff. God bless you all for your love and dedication in her time of need! Peace and kindness was her virtue, all the days of her life.
Family and Friends may pay their respects from 8:30 to 10:30 pm on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Pastor Barry Siefert, officiating.
Interment at Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge.
At the personal request of Elizabeth and her family, donations in her name of personal hygiene materials and bathing supplies are to be donated to any long term care facility in place of flowers. ""Bless our seniors.""
