Elizabeth Edmundson

BETTY EDMUNDSON of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Fred Edmundson, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the age of 93 years.

Betty is lovingly remembered by 3 children Phil (Katy) Edmundson of Lethbridge, Bob (Miriam) Edmundson of London, ON, and Susan (David) Sprinkle of Glacier, WA; 6 grandchildren Perry (Kim) Edmundson, Mark (Theresa) Edmundson, Sarah Edmundson, Sally (Steve) Schafer, Jane Edmundson (Paul Lawton) and Fred Sprinkle; and her 3 very special great-grandsons Lucas and Blake Schafer and Cole Edmundson.

Betty was born on October 14, 1916 in Nelson, BC to John and Mary Soans. Her family moved to Lethbridge in 1928 where she completed her education at LCI. While working at the Lethbridge YMCA she met the love of her life Fred. They were married on August 21, 1940. Fred, Betty and family owned and operated the Marquis Flower Shop for almost 60 years.

Also during that time Betty was involved with the Lethbridge Kinettes, on the board of the Lethbridge YWCA and a driver for Meals on Wheels. Betty and Fred enjoyed many winters in Indio, CA and summers at Rosen Lake, BC. Many happy days were enjoyed playing golf, playing bridge and socializing with great friends.

In Betty's memory a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Larry D. Hankinson officiating.
