Elfriede Domagala

Mrs. Elfriede Domagala, beloved wife of Mr. Eugene Domagala passed away at the Edith Cavell Care Centre on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the age of 78 years.

Elfriede was born in Friedrichdorf, Czechoslovakia on Sept. 25th, 1932. She then moved with her family to Plochingen, Germany where she met and married Eugene Domagala in 1951. In 1952 she followed her husband to Canada and settled in Lethbridge where she has resided until her passing. Elfriede was employed in the maintenance sector for most of her life retiring from St. Michael's Hospital in 1983. Elfriede was a hardworking woman with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and looking after her grandchildren.

Elfriede is survived by five children, Steve (Rita) Domagala, Mary (Gary) Vredegoor, Tony (Dianne) Domagala, Rick (Brenda) Domagala, and Eugene Domagala. She is also survived by her son-in-law Eugene Wilamowicz, and seven grandchildren, Chris Vredegoor & Lisa (Nick) Michael, Sebastian (Priscilla) Wilamowicz, Nicole (Geoff Pries) & Jessica Domagala, Craig & Cory Domagala, and one great-grandson Tristan Watson, all of Lethbridge.
She was predeceased by her son Stanley in 1973 and her daughter Monica Wilamowcz in 1986. She was also predeceased by her parents.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 19, 2011 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Ave South, Lethbridge, with Father Tim Boyle, celebrant.

Interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
