Eldon McCollum

MR. ELDON ""JOHN"" McCOLLUM passed away peacefully at Lethbridge Extendicare on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at the age of 85 years.

He is the beloved husband of Betty and cherished father of Patricia Dagnone and Rick (Marianne) McCollum. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Cheryl (Dennis) Holmes, David (Ramona) Mills, Michelle Mills, Jolaine Dagnone, Dennis and Brendan McCollum, three great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, his brother Eric (June) from Victoria, BC and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters and a son Dennis Alan.

John was born in Ontario on May 11, 1922, where he grew up, joined the Canadian Air Force, married and had two of his three children. The family moved west in 1950 where he maintained a job at Lethbridge Sash and Door until he retired. John was an exacting woodworker, producing many fine pieces of furniture for the home. He was a quiet and thoughtful man with an unexpected sense of humour and a true gentleman. We will miss him so much.
