Ehnes John

MR. JOHN EHNES beloved husband of the late Ila Ehnes, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 25, 2008 at the age of 94 years. John and Ila farmed in the Etzikom and Hoping area. In 1976 they moved to Lethbridge where John stayed active by feeding cattle until 1993. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ila, on January 19, 1998. In 2000 he moved to a seniors lodge in Lethbridge where he remained until his passing.

John is survived by his only son Larry (Ida) Ehnes and one special granddaughter Verna. He is also survived by his brothers George and Gabriel (Christina) Ehnes, one sister Magdelina ""Maggie"" Shade, sister-in-law Thekla, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Pius, sister Bertha (Ed) Folden, 2 infant brothers and 2 infant sisters.

John will be missed by his family and many friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Edith Cavell, staff at Chinook Regional Hospital and Dr. Gibb.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00pm and 8:00pm on Friday, August 29, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service to celebrate John's life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Ave South, Lethbridge, with Father Tim Boyle officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
