MR. ALEXANDER EGGER of Coalhurst, beloved husband of Aldia McCauley, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, September 5, 2009 and went home to be with His Lord, at the age of 74 years.

Alex was born and raised on a farm in Diamond City, Alberta. He also received his education there. As a young man he moved to Edmonton to drive truck where he met and married Lucille. They then owned and operated several different restaurants in Southern Alberta where they raised their family and made many good friends. For the last 15 years, Al helped his son in his construction business where he met his current wife, Aldia. Al enjoyed gardening and landscaping. He loved his pets and would take his dogs for walks at the river bottom. He also collected and restored antique cars for which he won several trophies. He will be greatly missed.

Besides his loving wife Aldia, Alex is survived by his daughters Linda (Gary Garrett) Kitt, Teri (Chuck Waines) Gregor, Rosemary (Michael) Mooney, Cyndi (Russ Blowey) Egger; son Blaine (Rolanda) Egger; grandchildren Michelle, Jayson, Kevin, Christina, Trevor, Justin, Nicole, Carissa, Tiffany, Sarah, Sierra, Cole, Lana; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers Fred (Martha) Egger, Rudy Egger, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Alex was predeceased by his wife Lucille, his parents Alexander and Sarah, as well as his sister-in-law Evelyn.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 6:00pm and 8:00pm, on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St., S., Lethbridge, AB.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm, on Friday, September 11, 2009 at the MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St., S., Lethbridge, AB, with Pastor Wayne Boersma officiating. Interment to follow in the Archmount Cemetery.
