Edward Cattoi

MR. EDWARD CATTOI, beloved husband of Mrs. Madeleine Cattoi, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital at the age of 86 years.

Ed was born on October 2, 1922 in Commerce Alberta. Edward lived the life of farming for many years; you could see Ed kneeling on hands and knees scratching the dirt to see if the sugar beets were coming up. He also treasured his garden and roses. When friends came to visit, he would go to the garden and get vegetables for them and would bring some to the food bank.

Ed is survived by his loving wife Madeleine; his four children, Allan Edward (Sonia) Cattoi, Annette (Mark) West, Carolin (Steve) Demkiw, and Carmen (Owen) Maidstone; his eight grandchildren Kelsey (Jamelia) West, Jason (Cherie) West, Tony Cattoi, Andrew Cattoi, Ryan Demkiw, Keenan and Talia Kubbernus and Reagan Maidstone; three great-granddaughters, Kelly Lynn (Dan) Peters, Myranda and Samantha West; two great-grandsons Ethan and Nevin West; as well as his sister Lena Kurylowicy of Coalhurst and brother Carl Catton of Crescent Valley, BC.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00PM, on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPELS, 610 - 4 St., S., Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 29, 2009 at ST. BASIL'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 13 Street North, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Father Raul Hernandez, celebrant.
