Edith Garrett

EDITH ""MARIE"" GARRETT passed away peacefully at St Michael's Health Centre on December 15, 2008.

Marie was born in Bow Island on April 24, 1915. She was predeceased by her parents George and Amy Lomas, sisters, Nellie, Gwen and Ollie, brother Web, infant daughter Shiela and husband James M (Jimmy) Garrett. Marie is survived by daughter Pat (Graham) Bonnett, son Brian, brother Earl (Dorothy) Lomas, sister-in-law Bert Lomas, brother-in-law Bill Upton and grandchildren Terry, Bruce and Dan and numerous great grand children and nieces and nephews. During her illness Marie was blessed with the love and support of her niece Vivienne.

Marie married Jimmy on July 1, 1941 and throughout her life worked as clerk, homemaker, secretary and numerous other roles. She provided leadership and strength in all her efforts and never failed to develop friendships with all she encountered. Marie curled, golfed, played bridge, sang in choirs, was a ""Lazy Daisy"", volunteered and lived a full life. She especially enjoyed he role in many activities at Southminster United Church.

At Mom's request there will be no funeral and a Memorial is planned for the spring.
