MR. EARLAND ""EARL"" DAWSON of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Patricia Dawson, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the age of 80 years.
Earl was born in Calgary in 1928 to Peter and Hildegarde Dawson. He graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1950. Earl worked in Ontario for 20 years with several electrical equipment manufacturers. He then finished his career in Lethbridge as Plant Manager for Automatic Electric and the Plant Manager for Novatel during their startup to make cell phones. He retired in 1985 and lived in Lethbridge for the remainder of his life.
In Lethbridge, Earl was active with the Chamber of Commerce, City Economic Development Advisory Committee, University of Lethbridge Senate and Board of Governors and the Lethbridge East Rotary Club.
Earl is survived by his son Peter (Susie Panacci) Dawson of Caledon, ON; daughters Christine (David) Lee of Lethbridge, Laurel (Dwayne) Prysiazny of Phoenix, AZ and Heather (Gordon Brown) Dawson of Edmonton, AB; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren as well as brother David (Lorraine) Dawson. Besides his loving wife Patricia, Earl was predeceased by his parents Peter and Hildegarde Dawson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 28, 2008 at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 - 15 Ave South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Terry Shillington officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Renal Dialysis Unit c/o Chinook Regional Hospital, 960 - 19 Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 1W5.
