F. David Dyck

1928 - 2013

Frank DAVID Dyck was born on December 18, 1928 in Harris, Saskatchewan to Frank W. and Sara (Lepp) Dyck on December 18, 1928. He passed away on April 11, 2013 surrounded by his family in Coaldale, Alberta. His family moved to Coaldale, Alberta in 1929. He married Johanna Andres on August 23, 1952. He was born in an era when horses were going out and machines were coming in. He embraced machinery. He worked in road construction, farming & feed hauling. He was a lay pastor in Coaldale Mennonite Church. He moved to the Coaldale Health Centre in 2009. Thank you to all the staff for their wonderful care and attention. David is lovingly remembered by his wife, Johanna (Jo), four children, Elizabeth (Henry) Warkentin, Bill Dyck, Mark (Marlene) Dyck, and Mary Jane (Tim) Armitage. Fourteen grandchildren, David (Valerie), Eric, Adam (Rachel), Ryan (Shaela and son), Megan (Tristan), Joel (Allison), Sarah, Paul, Braden (Jessica and girls), Steven, Adrien (Annie), Grant, Emma and Thomas; three great grandchildren, Parks, Lexa and Nate, former daughter in law, Janice Dyck. Two sisters, Elvera Gauger, Catherine von Hohenbalken, two brothers, John Dyck and Werner Dyck. Two brothers in law, Jake (Verdell) Andres, Mel (Sylvia) Andres, two sisters in law, Anne (Kermit) Daum, and Anne Harder (Eric, deceased). Family and friends are invited to meet with the family from 7:00PM to 8:00PM on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Coaldale Mennonite Church, 2316 - 17 Street, Coaldale, with Pastor Lillian Thompson and Pastor George Klassen officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee Alberta, #210, 2946 - 32 Street NE, Calgary, AB T1Y 6J7 and, or Coaldale Health Centre - 2100 11 Street, Coaldale, Alberta, T1M 1L2.
